About Large Group or Extended Family Photography Sessions
WHAT TO EXPECT AT YOUR SESSION
A lot of fun! Even though the kids may be a little older we still keep these sessions light-hearted and fun. Keeping the session relaxed is the best way to capture the real dynamic of your family. While we certainly include a few posed photos where everyone is looking at the camera, our ultimate aim is to capture what it feels like to be part of your family.
While we certainly keep the sessions light and fun, we are always keeping an eye on the most interesting light and composition. This helps us create images that are uniquely yours - they will convey a sense of joy and spontaneity, but they have also been thoughtfully crafted and composed.
Location - Where we hold your session
We've previously held sessions outdoors at the park, at the beach, in backyards and front yards, by rivers, harbours and oceans and indoors at homes all across Sydney. If you have an idea for your location, or if you'd like some inspiration to help you choose we'd love to hear from you.
We recommend choosing a location that has a certain significance for your family. This can be as simple as your own backyard, or a park you used to visit when the children were growing up. Or it might be a location that reflects the interests of your family, such as an urban, architectural setting. If you're unsure where to hold your session we'd be happy to provide a few ideas.
How to prepare for your session
After your booking is made we will she through some advice on how to best prepare for your session. It's all very straightforward, but we'll answer a few common questions such as "What should we wear?" and "What time of day is best?" We'll also provide a few tips to prepare for larger groups and extended families.
grandchildren, children-in-law and pets
What if your extended family now includes grandchildren, sons- and daughters-in-law, and pets? No problem, bring them along! Our family sessions can include just the two of you, your kids, or the full set of grandkids and extended family. We also regularly photograph pets in our family sessions (including cats, horses, and a family of 5 huskies) so everybody is welcome.
